For this month’s reading we used the ‘Pagan Cats Tarot‘ by ‘Lo Scarabeo’.
For the beginning of the month we pulled a Major Arcana: ‘The Empress‘. This is the same card we pulled in our previous reading for the last part of September, meaning the same theme will continue across this period: the Empress is an embodiement of Mother Nature, of the creative life force that exists within all living things; we could say that this is the force of Love that binds together our masculine and feminine parts, that harmonizes the conscious and unconscious mind. In this sense, her ability to create and provide abundance depends on the mutual attraction and collaboration between opposites. This card invites us to reflect on how to achieve a balance in our lives, in our relationships, in the world at large, by acting out of Love in our lives and in our relationships.
For the central part of the month we pulled the ‘Five of Cups‘ (Water): three cups have been spilled but two are already standing and full. Do you focus on the sorrow for what is lost or can you turn around and see what still stands strong? Our approach to life and circumstances is key: how do we see each situation? What do we give strength to? Even when a phase is ending, how do we find the strength and courage to see the opportunities that lay around us? Determination, spiritual practices and stillness are required to digest the events of the world and act according to our nature and beliefs. Even failure is a result: it teaches us something. It makes us grow. We are only here on this physical plane to make experiences and to learn to become ourselves. Are we able to count our joys and focus on those?
The card we pulled for the last part of the month is the ‘Nine of Swords‘ (Air), a clear continuation from the previous card: after a crisis it’s time to overcome our grief, to not stay stuck in despair, to get up again and do something we love, to get back our sparkle.
