Oracle cards

Oracle cards for the weekend January 21st-22nd 2017

We picked some cards for you! As usual, the interpretations you can read below are our own (not verbatim from the deck’s booklets).

Note: The photo was shot at the ‘terra terra’ market, which is held in a couple of different spots in Rome: it is an initiative where local farmers and artisans sell their biologic, organic and hand-built products directly to people without compromising their principles and can provide genuine, old-fashioned products that are grown and made in harmony and with respect for the environment, without being exploited by the big distribution chains who tend to take all the profits while hiding away the people behind labels and brands: the market therefore also focuses on the relationships between producers and consumers and it becomes again a place of socialization and exchange (of goods but also of ideas) outside of the sole money-making logic of the corporations.

Here are the cards we picked:

A) “Talk about your feelings”, from the “Magical Unicorns Oracle cards” by Doreen Virtue, invites you to tell a friend how you feel and don’t keep your emotions bottled up inside of you. If you really feel that you can’t tell friends or family, try to find a counselor or other person that you feel you can trust, or at least let your feelings out by writing them down (in a diary, a letter, a story…) or through art. Sometimes you don’t know how you really feel about something – thoughts can be confusing and contradictory in our heads – until you take the time to speak or write them down and rationalize them to make them clearer, even to yourself. It is very important to let them out, because keeping everything in can lead you to mental and physical diseases and it won’t really resolve the situation.

B) “Admit the truth”, from the “Archangel Michael Oracle cards” by Doreen Virtue, almost sounds like the continuation of the previous card: don’t ignore nor try to dismiss your feelings but face them with courage, because they won’t go away by sweeping them under the proverbial carpet. Maybe you are afraid to admit the truth because that would imply making life changes that you feel you are not ready to make. Pray to Archangel Michael to guide you and give you the courage and strength to be honest with yourself – and with others – in the best interest of everyone involved.

C) “Lord Shiva”, from the “Keepers of the Light” by Kyle Gray (with beautiful images by Lily Moses), is one of the best known deities in Hinduism. He reminds us that we should not be afraid of changes and that it is only when the old structures fall apart that new ones can emerge. Through the eternal process of un-doing and re-doing, the world has evolved. While admiring the fire of destruction and creation (those not familiar with Shiva might see a similarity with the western story of the Phoenix being re-born from its ashes), maintain a positive and courageous outlook on the events of life; keep flowing and dance at the rhythm of Nature, and you will re-emerge from this period, transcending the limitations that others have been trying to impose on you.

D) “Zen Garden”, from the “Gaia Oracle” deck by Toni Carmine Salerno, is a confirmation that peace is possible, but it must begin with and within yourself. Even in the midst of the storm, chaos or confusion, in the ups and downs of life, you must strive to let all those external things and circumstances be. Trust that things always happen for a reason – even if you don’t understand it – and maintain an inner peace, an inner center of gravity, an inner Sanctuary that helps you find your inner light and peace from within.

We hope this reading was useful and inspirational for you – let us know!

Have a blessed day,
Jyothi & Daniele
