At the beginning of every month we pull three Oracle cards or Tarot cards, for a generalized prediction of the month. Let us know if these readings resonate with you! We’d like to hear your stories!
This time around we pulled three cards from the beautifully illustrated ‘Gaian Tarot‘ deck by Joanna Powell Colbert.
The cards represent the first, second and third part of the month.
For the beginning of the month we pulled the Two of Earth (Coins). This card represents a very busy period, in which you are probably trying to juggle multiple things at once and you seem to be running out of breath at times… just show up.
On July 4th we have a new Moon. A new moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of a new 28 day cycle. The best time for making a fresh start and for beginning new projects is during the first two weeks of a new moon cycle. It sounds like this might be a contributor to the hectic period the card is depicting.
Now, this new Moon is in Cancer. This means people will be emotional. Probably very emotional, just like the two crying babies in the picture of the Tarot card! You have been warned. Now that you know this, try to take some time when you need it – even short snippets of time, even if you think you don’t have time; make a little time for yourself and yourself alone – to regroup in solitude and do what you love, meditate or just rest. This is not a time to be social, but the distress can be very beneficial if it’s used to drive inner work and growth. Throughout this period, try to maintain your inner center while in the midst of whatever life is throwing at you. You know you can do this! Once you get used to it, it can become fun to just stay afloat and flow!
For the central part of the month we have a very auspicious card: the Elder (‘King’ in traditional tarot) of Earth (Coins). This represents the figure of someone who lives a simple but abundant life. Someone who worked hard and created wealth, but knows very well that real prosperity and joy are to be found in relationships and in the simple things of every day. He’s content.
This card might represent a person – alive or dead, past or present – who you know or maybe admire. Someone that inspires you. Someone whose humility, drive, integrity and dedication you admire as royal qualities. Someone you see as a role model. Maybe for you that’s an historical figure, or a Saint, or an Archangel, Jesus, a Power Ranger, you deceased granddad – it does not matter who that is if it matches the qualities of the person who knows how to live in an enlightened state. Someone who inspires you to be a better you.
What if, in the middle of the daily struggles, you call your hero for help (for real, but even just in your thoughts) and draw strength from that? The universe does respond energetically when you ask, but you need to ask!
With this card, there is indeed a possibility of a recognition or some sort: a promotion, a contract, public recognition… maybe around July 14th, when Mercury (that rules communication) will enter Leo, or on the 19th, when the Moon will be full. Since this full Moon is the peak of the cycle that started on the 4th, maybe the recognition will be just your own acknowledgment that you rock at anything that you do, that you stayed in flow, managed to maintain things going, and made it through the first half of the month!
The card we drew for the last part of the month of May is the Six of Fire (Wands). This is often referred to as ‘the victory card’, which says enough. Unlike the previous card, this is not, anyhow, about recognition for your work; this has more to do with the private sphere, and it sounds like this month will culminate in celebrations and fun! The dancer around the fire in the picture of this card also seems to match the more extrovert type of energy of the Sun entering Leo on July 22nd!
This card might referring to a well deserved holiday, party, friends or family gathering, and speaks of celebrating for the intrinsic joy that celebrating brings – because it’s good to open up to others again and mingle, after all that hard work!
Mad Hatter: Now, statistics prove, prove that you’ve one birthday
March Hare: Imagine, just one birthday every year
Mad Hatter: Ah, but there are three hundred and sixty four unbirthdays!
March Hare: Precisely why we’re gathered here to cheer
Alice: Then today is my unbirthday too!
March Hare: It is?
Mad Hatter: What a small world this is.
March Hare: In that case… A very merry unbirthday,
Alice: To me?
Mad Hatter: To you!
