It does not matter how slowly you go

It does not matter how slowly you go

“[…] The grand old Duke of York,
He had ten thousand men;
He marched them up to the top of the hill,
And he marched them down again.

And when they were up, they were up,
And when they were down, they were down,
And when they were only half-way up,
They were neither up nor down […]”

This children’s song always makes me giggle.
Anyhow, we are not suggesting that you do like the Duke’s army, marching up and down for no reason, going in circles!

A very different example are the sea turtles. Many sea turtles species live their whole life in water, but they come on the land to lay their eggs, buried under the sand of a shore. Once the eggs hatch, the baby turtles intuitively reach for the sea, and start swimming.
The turtle mothers know all the coasts and bays, and they only ‘trust’ a beach to lay their eggs onto if they know this is not visited by humans. It needs to be a really quiet beach, or they would not trust it to leave their eggs where they could be smashed!
This means, that even if they live somewhere else, they have to patiently travel great distances to go to those hidden places (the few ones that remain, until humans take those over too) that are so vital – literally – for their progeny to make it into this world.

We would rather see a world where humans get inspired an follow the example of turtles who – slowly and gently but dependably – reach far and wide, led by their ideals and intuition.

This is your time to show up.
